Cancelling supplementary insurance
Cancelling the basic insurance does not end your supplementary cover at Visana – that needs a letter of its own. Supplementary (VVG) policies carry their own notice period, commonly three months to year-end and therefore often until 30 September. Your policy decides.

Why registered mail
Because the deadline is a receipt deadline, you need proof of when your letter arrived at Visana. Registered mail (from CHF 8.99) gives you an item number and a tracking record of posting and delivery; A-Post Plus (from CHF 5.49) is the cheaper tracked option. A plain send is possible from CHF 2.49.

Can I cancel Visana by email?
